Description

Shellplate Bearing Kit Dillon RL 1100 or Super 1050 kit is the very popular shellplate bearing kit, for eliminating the spills of powder when the shellplate indexes. Run out is reduced and the overall length of your ammo will be more consistent. This really smooths out the operation of the press. This kit does not require re-adjustment of dies. The older RL 1050 or 1050, have a shorter stroke. Read the FAQ at our website to find out how to modify your press for this kit, Hit Factor Shooting Supply LLC. Some customers have reported success without modifying their older style 1050's . Detailed instructions come with each of our kits. We also maintain a FAQ with the latest tips and tricks for your press. You may want to check that out before purchasing a kit. Our kits were featured in the Nov/Dec 2011 issue of Front Sight magazine. How the low mass detent ball works: The low mass detent ball has less momentum when it locks up with the shellplate. This phenolic ball is super hard, smooth and lightweight. It's approximately 7 times lighter than the factory steel ball and every bit as tough. The low mass detent ball and reduced power spring has less momentum when it locks up with the shellplate. The material also absorbs vibrations much better than the steel ball. This detent ball is highly abrasion resistant and will not be cut or scarred by the shellplate. These are industrial grade and used when strength and abrasion resistance is required. Delrin (white plastic) balls are shredded by Dillon presses, the bottom edge of the shellplate is sharp. Our low mass ball is 50% harder than Delrin, this is exactly why we had the phenolic resin ball custom made to our specifications. No modifications are required to run this low mass ball and reduced power spring on your press. The LMDB and reduced power spring is custom made to our specifications, these are not off the shelf items. The best solution to this common problem is one of our other kits that includes a shellplate bearing, click here to see our eBay Store and all Shellplate Bearing Kits. Kits are available for RL 550, XL 650, Super 1050, and RL 1100. Reduces powder spills, vibration, and shellplate snap. All of our kits and components are made in the U.S.A.
