Lovers of very finely hand woven Kazak Caucasian carpets, here’s a really nice example from the best of the Pakistani weavers. It is also especially visually pleasing, with a range of blues (from rich Cyan to deep Lapis) and mauve/salmon/pinks. The Pakistan government imports premium wool yarns from Australia for its rug weaving artisans, so the rug quality is excellent. I’m told that the gray-colored, knotted fringe on carpets like this is one of the indicators of its Pakistan origin. (It may also be from Turkey, I’m told. If you are an expert, please advise.) I’ve attached more than a dozen photos, so please review those carefully to confirm the superb craftsmanship and overall quality of this carpet. Measurements: 6’10” x 5’10” or 208x178 cm; this is a very nice size and shape for a foyer or under a dining room table. Condition: Even overall medium pile with no stains, moth damage, or repairs; in excellent overall condition. Made around 1980, It’s been in a low traffic area of our smoke-free home for over 40 years. Price: A highly respected Persian carpet dealer who is a friend of ours cleaned this carpet for us. He noted that it was a beautiful piece and said it would easily be priced at $2200-2500 in his store; I’ll try it at 50% below retail: $1195.00 as a Buy It Now, or best reasonable offer.
